American Cornhole League - Touch Down in Sweden

Touch Down Cobra Kai

Shawn “Sensei” Farrell representing Cobra Kai Cornhole and the ACL Team Pennsylvania Ringers made a Touch Down on Swedish ground during the ACL Europé Event in Uppsala at the end of May. While in town he stopped by to play some rounds at our venue at Säbygatan 9. His words when he was entering the stairs outside the building was – Is this some kind of joke, am I being set Up? You know I’m a New Yorker, you better not Hustle me.

Two steps in to the building seeing the X- Factor boards all stuffed up at the 7 lanes in front of him, The Mexican Food Truck to the right serving 16 inches long Burritos and the Bar in the center with more American Coors in the Fridge than been seen on upper Manhattan. He kept walking more or less 27 more footsteps to be outside to the backyard and seeing The Titan Pro Boards shuffled up on 6 more lanes and ready to be played at with Non Stop Action, the words from Mr Sensei was – “THIS PLACE IS LEGIT”.

3 Titles out of 3, respect! 

The tournament started – The event had three different Tournaments: Singles, Blind Draw and Doubles. Mr Sensei, The Cobra Kai walked away with all 3 Titles, put on a smile and said, – Thanks Sweden, enjoy your Cornhole, keep practicing on your flatbags and next year maybe I let you have some more points.

It was truly a great event that the Tournament director  Mr Ton de Wries out of Wicked Wood Cornhole’s Netherlands put together with Job and Rob, with great help from the Sweden represent Mr Tomas Heller. It was Great fun to see players coming in from Germany, Suomi Finland, Norway, Lithuania, Great Britain, US and also all the people from all around Sweden. It’s a fantastic community that all you players and organizers are building up, kind of unique in kindness and progress at the same time or like I think the gentleman’s Hen Ry from Germany, Mr Matthew Richardson UK and the great Double Champion Mr Denny Mallon from US was thinking – Mr Sensei you are good guy and a great player, actually you are the Champ but next year watch out – Be careful with that Cobra thing, we will bite back.

So whats up, what has been and what will come around.

What’s has been?

A most amazing spring and start of the summer. We are so greatful for the companies, the private events and all you players hanging out and throwing bags with us. All of  you that stops by for dining with Heta Köket or only for a cup of probably too roasted black coffee in a small cheap white paper cup.

What is up?

First up is Summer Clash Doubles at 4 of July and then a late night Freeroll Switcholio (New Team Mate Every Game) on Saturday 13 of July before we go on a Break. We will let the venue at Säbygatan 9 take a rest until the end of July and probably a bit in to early august as well.

What will come around?

We want to continue to bring people together with Cornhole tournaments because we love the excitement that the tournaments brings to all levels of players.

Some scheduled things to look forward to.

Swedish Champion Ship in Härnösand 9-11 august. The Cornament will be there of course and after listening to the words from the President of The Swedish Cornhole federation Mathias Mabergs“ You rather be the Commentator than participating in the Tournament” that’s what’s happening.

The Throw Down at Spencer Makenzies at Ventura Beach – California 23-25 of august. That’s on Top of our bucketlist, probably will not be able to go there with The Cornament this year but hopefully some year. If your are a Cornhole fan make sure to follow The Throw Down Cornhole Festival at Spencer Makenzies with the Promoter John “ Back at You”. ( We never met John but we hope we do, all the energy John put in to the festival, that’s pure inspiration for us back here in Sweden).

In Trier, Germany 12-15 of September the ACL Europé Open will take place. This is the Event that brings Europeans and American Cornhole community together and most probably The founder of ACL Stacey Moore will show up at sight – The movement he started 2015 with the American Cornhole League, ACL is not only impressing, its Outstanding.

November Skills

In November we will host our November Skills, this is still a quite small event but make no mistake, we have been working on November Skills for a couple years now with the idea of making Sweden a little bit more colorful in the dark November. The event The Couples of The Couples Saturday 16 of November is one of the friendly and challenging event that almost already now is sold out thanks to the current champs Andreas and Hannah Björn that keeps the invites going. We also already know that The Main event Singles and Doubles of The Cornament Ranking 2024 will take place at 23-24 of November. This November we will also present you the news of our Crew Cup – We have great expectations that its going to be a huge hit so already now bring your crew together, you will be 4 in a team – More news about that, stay tuned.
